On our old school school picture post, I wrote about it here, I mentioned that I went to some SL place and took a picture of a house that I used at the backdrop;
And I couldn't remember where that was. Well, it was Deadman's Island.
The house didn't really play much of a part in the pictures we took, so I would not have lost sleep if I couldn't give give them credit, but I have been looking for the place in my adventures so I was pleased when I landed at Deadman's Island tonight and recognized it.
This is the place you've seen in a lot of pics- the archway of spiky trees leading to the house is a great design and a fantastic backdrop for pictures by itself. It's worth a trip just for that.
I walked around for quite some time and there's still stuff I didn't see- not because there's tons and tons of stuff like some of the other places, but rather because it's big and spread out and then each place has lots of fine details to look at. I spent a lot of time in the house, which is ironic because I used the outside of the house for our witch pictures and the inside is absolutely witch picture heaven!
Some pics of Deadman's Island;
There are several very photograph friendly sections, so bring your ghost pirate witch zombie outfits and watch out for the huge spider!
I liked this place because it was spread out, plenty of room to take moody Halloween pics without bleeding into another genre in the next display like a lot of places that just stack Halloween on Halloween.
I didn't experience lag at this sim but it feels scripty when you move around if you know what I mean. I recommend this place, definitely worth a trip or two if you're looking for a great Halloween picture places in the closing week of the season.
