Here's one I just posted on muh Flickr given the cheery name I am become death.
I don't know the deeper meaning of those words other than Robert Oppenheimer supposedly said them when he saw his baby, the first atomic weapon, go off. He got them from the Bhagavad Gita, a Hindu scripture.
How a physicist was able to haul out a quote like that when he saw the massive destructive power of atomic weapons is really the story here huh? What a poetic age that was. I probably would have said
"Holy $%&#!! It works!"
