I was doing something tremendously important like sorting hair when someone in the Bellisseria Citizens group mentioned the passing of Linden Labs CEO Ebbe Altberg. He was a very young man, in his mid 50's and was by all accounts a tremendously popular and successful steward to all of us that love Second Life.
There is nothing like the passing of a person too soon to make you stop.
I have a friend who was very touched by Mr Altberg's passing and was going to visit Ebbe Tide, which is near the GTFO zone Ebb Tide but is not the same. I didn't even know it existed, (there is also an Ebbe Isle), and my friend as taking her plane from her home to Ebbe Tide to pay her respects.
Of course I invited myself along. I didn't take pics, but after, now that we've safely landed back at our homes and I've had time to reflect how powerful that was, I went back and took this pic of Ebbe Tide.(slurl)
To the family and friends of Mr. Altberg, to the people of Second Life who feel the loss, my heartfelt condolences at this tremendously sad time. To my friend for letting me share the journey, thank you.
I didn't think I got a picture because I'm just clueless, but Camden and Crystal had a nice tribute to Ebbe on the Bellisseria Belle during the parade today, and Bear and Rita had a sign in their yard as we paraded by and I did actually get a picture of that. How wonderful is this community?
