Or Are We Dancer?

"I could give you a fantasy makeover," my friend offered, and the words were barely out of her mouth and I was standing at attention with my spacebux card in hand ready to shop with my own "YES PLEASE!" hurtling forth at the speed of electricity minus lag.

so let's get this right outta the way;

That is my new look and hopefully the first of many different types of me that I'll drive around this glorious platform.

"Different Types of Me" I just coined that phrase but it sounds like it could also have been the title of some singer-songwriter album from the 1970s. I'll get back around to this phrase later, I have to quote stuff and tell you about my garbage cans first. I'll quote a song so at least you have something to listen to.

are we human? or are we dancer? my sign is vital, my hands are cold  -the killers

I did not know about BelliBins until my amazingly talented and wise friend Bela told me about them when we opened the Riverbridge Café. I was enchanted by the idea. Here's a link to them on marketplace, and if you like the idea you will also want this hud too.

BelliBins are fun because we can put them at our houses in Bellisseria and people can roleplay that they are coming around to collect them. There's more tho-

Back in the days of gacha vendors people would get a lot of duplicate items that they were unable to foist off onto their friends and not worth the hassle of a marketplace ad. Those BelliBins were a great place to get rid of said items. People could go around and collect gacha items from the bins.

So the other day at the Riverbridge Rooftop Party someone said there were no BelliBins in the region and I went all Dwight Shrute with "FALSE!" and we marched down to look at my beautiful bins. Ok, it really didn't happen like that but you've read this far into a post about garbage cans and a makeover so I felt like we should have some action or something.

Anyway, I think my BelliBins were borked because they weren't sending out the bat signal but that's a tale for a different day, this is a blog post about a makeover.

Most of my 16 years here in Second Life I've looked like a human. I've been male and female and all along the spectrum in between. I change my hair or my shoes and my clothes but it's all usually within the norms of what humans look like and wear. I don't know why.

And in Bellisseria we are kind of encouraged to stay in the realm of reality, décor needs to fit in the theme of the area... which I totally get and agree with because I don't want to live next to that glowing lime green slime volcano your neighbor lives in either.

Unless I do.

Belli Becca Brain says "slime volcano bad" but new adventure Becca, the space scoundrel with a heart of gold, thinks the luminescence of the slime volcano looks amazeballs in contrast to her radiant blue skin.

I know this is not a revolution in thought, especially because many of my friends who read this blog already rock some amazing fantasy avatars that I've been camming and raving about for ages, but it just never occurred to me to wear one myself until...

My makeover friend doesn't live in Belli. She has a skybox full of unicorns and amazingly beautiful things. It's like living in a beautiful dream.

I was standing in that beautiful dream, and her avatar looks like something a unicorn would dream into existence to be its friend and I'm looking great for Belli but in that environment I looked like I'd been beamed in from the wrong universe to talk about tax policy changes...

...and I heard myself trying to explain to my friend that my pretend trash cans were broken and realized that soon my pretend car will be due for a pretend lube and my pretend pizza delivery is late again and I'm sure my mesh teeth are probably due for a check-up....

so I JUMPED when she offered a fantasy makeover.

In reality, we actually got talking about the Bellisseria fantasy regions in between the garbage cans and the makeover, and it may have been days of conversation I've condensed for dramatic effect but you get the idea.

Bringing the story back around the barn now I can't wait to experience SL for the first time again but this time coloring outside the lines with a different box of crayons. There are in all of us different moods and songs and selves and I'm going to use this wonderful environment to explore them. I honestly can't thank my unicorn friend enough for helping me find this, I'm so excited by SL again- excited to explore the different types of me.

Friends and neighbors, please don't worry- I'm keeping my BelliBins and not leaving Belli or anything. In fact I think my bins actually work now and people that empty them get a lil gift too. The first few nights of Trick or Treating in Belli have been a blast and I'm still totally in love with this community, but in addition to that awesome sauce I'm painting with colors I've never used before and it's a thrill.

So stay tuned, beloved SLugglers, Becca the Scoundrel Space Pirate is here and steering the blog into very wordy waters apparently, but she is insanely happy to be here with you until she gets replaced by Becca the Bunny or Becca the Barnacle or Becca the Bodacious Barnacle Bunny or some other, different type of me.

It's our world, our imagination, enjoy the ride however you want. For me, I'm answering the music question asked earlier by saying most definitively-  I'm human AND dancer.  ♥
